
Suny Cobleskill Equine Studies Programs
SUNY (State University of New York) is at Cobleskill Cobleskill, New York. The university is a university public four falls close to 2,500 students and is located about 40 minutes southwest of Albany. The college offers several Equine Studies programs and currently has with about 75 students who are pursuing a career in horses. Students can earn either an Associate Degree in an intimate atmosphere in the Equestrian Center. The Associate and Bachelor's degrees prepare students for a number of different careers including:

The Equestrian Center has many wonderful features that will increase student learning. The center has new state of the art stables, riding school covered, several outdoor stages, and miles of trails and pastures. The facility also offers many services such as training, breeding, lessons, clinics, camps, and the center allows students to have hands on experience in operating a major business and equine facility.
Once a student has finished his degree, be prepared to go to graduate school in areas such as horse behavior, nutrition, physiology, veterinary science or education. If a student chooses not to obtain a graduate degree, the bachelor and associate degree prepares students for immediate success in any field related horses.
The university offers a Bachelor of Technology Animal Science and Equine Counseling track is designed to provide students with opportunity to develop advanced skills in the areas of equine science, competition, and business management. This program offers students the opportunity to expand and take advantage of past experience and background to increase their knowledge and skills required to effectively operate in a wide variety of equine related fields. The Bachelor of Technology in Agriculture Business with horses and Business Administration Counseling track focuses on all aspects of business management of the equine industry. This is a broad-based program provides flexibility so that each student can design your own unique educational experience and still receive the knowledge they need to make sure that it will be ability to achieve its objectives of long-term work. Some of the courses included in this curriculum are:

Farm Assessment
Environmental Issues in Agriculture
Students who do not wish to pursue a degree, may choose to exercise one of the associate degrees offered by the university. The Associate of Applied Science in Equine Studies provide students the opportunity to learn about equine health, equine behavior, training, breeding, nutrition and forage management.
There other courses that students can choose from that includes dressage and show jumping, training rivets, reining, driving, eventing, and conventional riding courses therapeutic instructor.
Students who are pursuing an associate degree are encouraged to select a specific field of study of one of the four fields offered by the university. Students may choose to specialize in Management Horse Farm Performance, training horses, riding therapeutic, and Thoroughbred Management.
