How I can root of a branch of a chestnut tree? Should I put the land in a bucket of water or something else.
I'm living in England and found a branch of a chestnut tree that was in the making. I put in the water and all the buds have opened, leaves out etc. How do I can keep it alive? Should I put in a bucket of water and add soil to it? Or should I say more? Should I give organic plant food? Will root or die just in time?
Your best bet is to plant seeds (Conkers) However, you might try to dig a shallow trench and the stem down, cover up, leaving only the tip exposed, could result in that way.
