Native American horse and rider costume?

So every year we have a fun show down to our barn last year I dressed up Snow White and my horse was Prince Charming: D This year I like to dress as a Native American and put war paint on my horse that I would to painting on feathers and braids in her hair and stuff like that so that part is easy. BUT my costume is a bit complicated. I'd be doing jumping / cross country and play. Y I have to wear a helmet and riding boots my height. I think I have most of the costumes but my problem is, how to disguise the hull without being silly and still be able to mount in it!? costume ideas for all, the horse and rider? Anyone else do this? If you have, pictures would help a lot: D Thanks guys:) I like idea headband with feathers and moccasins on:)
Helmet – Like another poster said, wrap a strip of paper around it and the tail feathers to it. Boots – Do you know what a snake? Look up. You should try to make boots that look. Tape (yes, like glue tape will get dirty boots up) some fake fur on his boots and some shoelaces on the tape to create a stunning look for patterns. Have fun, I LOVE costume contests! ♥
