Understanding the Nature of the Horse

By nature the horse was destined to live on grass fields with natural protection through the trees and landscape elements. The horse lived in herds and flocks were most groups of mares with a stallion for your protection. As technology advanced and begin to trust the horse more and more, begin to change the way the horse's life. The horse was the box and shoes and walked away from the grassy fields of barns and stables in cities. This was a drastic change for the horse and he has had to overcome many of their natural instincts to this new way of life.

To compensate for the change the horse's natural way of life that we must do everything we can to make it easier and more comfortable on our horses. There are certain procedures that we done to ensure that our horses are healthy and live a happy life. Horses are grazing every day and we must remember this when it comes to schedules of our food. Horses were the intention of walking and running on hard ground, so this must also be remembered when stable our horses and our beds made. Racehorses actually have more of a healthier lifestyle that many stabled horses. Their stalls are not very beds and have access to hay twenty-four hours day. When it comes to stable our horses, we must remember that they were intended for small meals, so many small meals a day is actually much better than a big meal. If the horse is not able to feel some excitement in the bones of the ground, then the bones become fragile and can break even.

If you have a number of horses, it is important that you understand herd mentality. The herd mentality applies to the solitude and horses, because they are a part of the horse herd. A herd of horses is similar to a group of children on the playground. When horses are together going to run and play together. If you do something for their crazy friends, then they ignore it and keep it away from the pack. This is similar to the boy who makes friends angry and want nothing to do with it. Play and ignore it. To return to the herd, the horse has to show remorse and alpha horse will allow you to return to the herd. The same applies to the child. If the child apologizes and shows remorse, then his friends come to play again.

The horse lives on very basic principles, but they know they can not live alone. Depend the herd for protection. When you have only one horse, his horse up to you for leadership and protection. To gain the trust of your horse then you must show that you are a worthy leader.
