Electric horse fencing – rope, tape or cable?
Which is better? Rope, tape or electrical wire horse fencing? I do not want something sag as I'm putting in the top of the fencepost. Also – what is better? Solar, battery or charger cable?? THANKS! The use of a charger cable can be difficult in the area who are in – is the solar energy battery charger better? Arabs did not push my fences, but gave me an Andalusian of 2 years and has driven over two fences. She just loves to rub and press on the fences.
If you are talking about Edge need to put some "hard-wire and electric for safety reasons … especially if you are planning on using either a power charger solar or battery (not terribly reliable, and most do not have a strong, either.) I use two strands of twisted barbless soft and two power lines poly-cord … makes a strong fence, but it sure is easy enough for the horse to see. The poly-cord is also very easy to squeeze, if it does stretch out or loose. I have found that doesn't have a load tape it, but I like the fact that it is very visible … probably not a good choice for use with a power charger solar or battery unless the grass is very, very small. I highly recommend the company Premier Fencing (online at www.premier1supplies.com) … have good product, quite reasonable, and are very helpful. Finally, make sure you have good base … at least 3 ground rods and wire of high ground … no ground = no crash! No kidding!
