Who should get the vaccine Potomac horse fever?
my horse needs his shots fall early and I'm trying to figure out if I should phf the vaccine or not. the effects of having phf are horrible from what I read, but from what I remember you do not need the vaccine unless your water nearby? if I can not remember. if my horse is a mile from a small creek and im in the Midwest Northern Illinois) will get the vaccine or should I just be a loss?
The parasite that causes the disease are the freshwater snails and aquatic insects. There are many different forms of the disease that the vaccine may not protect your horse.
